Hey everybody, I’m Emily Fawn and welcome to Lunar Notions! 🌙✨ In this series, we peek behind the celestial scenes of the full moon in a succinct way, and use reflective questions based on the energetic current to propel us forward.
Each Full Moon offers a spotlight on what’s growing in our lives from the seeds we planted at previous new moon times 🌱 — a symbolic illumination of our lives and where they’re going. Full moons are a great time to check in on your goals and mindsets so I’ll be aiming our reflective questions 🪞 in those directions. If you’re interested in the practice of tending your mental, emotional, and goal-oriented garden with others, check out my offer at the end of this article! 👀
During the second half of 2025 we have experienced full moons near the beginning of each sign the sun has entered. This full airy 🌬️ Gemini moon is occurring during the early part of the sun’s transit through fiery 🔥 Sagittarius.
Full moons are always in the opposite sign that the sun is in, so the Gemini-Sagittarius polarity will highlight where our attention will be drawn.
🧲 Balancing Comfort & Curiosity
The Gemini-Sagittarius polarity is a mental axis 🧠. Gemini represents the “lower mind,” focused on the logistics of everyday life and getting organized🔬. Sagittarius represents the “higher mind,” the bigger picture and what is essential 🌏. A Gemini Moon encourages us to think logically, while the Sun in Sagittarius persuades us to think beyond our normal mindsets and see our reality from a different perspective.
In ♊ Gemini, the Full Moon emphasizes the importance of recognizing the validity of multiple perceptions and viewpoints and embracing the paradoxes of life without trying to resolve them. Gemini, ruled by Mercury, governs communication, intellect, and adaptability. The ♐ Sagittarius Sun symbolizes the quest for meaning and ideas that expand upon the here and now.
So we will have both the scene from the airplane ✈️ and the sidewalk 👣 viewpoint tugging at our attention during this full moon.
This Full Moon invites us to balance our comfort in our immediate surroundings 🏠 (Gemini) and the stimulation that comes from venturing beyond our neighborhoods ✈️ (Sagittarius). It can also inspire deep conversations 💬, creative ideas 💡, and a willingness to see things from new perspectives 👀.
The main focus will be on what you are learning and believing in and how that affects your everyday life and decision making.
🥊🥊 Sagittarius and Pisces Squaring Off into Early 2026
As things progress astrologically, planets and points will pass or transit through the signs of the zodiac wheel. From now until early 2026, each time this happens in Sagittarius, these transits will square planets and points in Pisces 🐟.
Transiting through Sagittarius right now we have the Sun ☀️, Mars ♂️, and Venus ♀️. These transits will be highlighting what we are prioritizing going forward and separating those things from what is only important today.
🪐 Saturn ♄ and 🔵 Neptune are hanging out in the later degrees of the last sign in the zodiac wheel — Pisces 🐟. Here, Neptune is fogging all over the place 🌫️ and Saturn is tired of cleaning up 🧹 — yet pressing on to clarity is what we are called to do. Pisces is about endings ⏱️ and clearing out energies 🌊. The last degrees of each sign offer lessons of mastery in the themes of that zodiac sign.
🧠 The idea here is that we have the opportunities to re-learn how to master our sight of what needs to end, as well as mastering the actions of letting things go and phasing things out of our lives 🎓. This clearing out is what will help us cut through the fog.
🫵 What this means for our lives:
We will be repeatedly called upon to adjust our expectations, assumptions, beliefs, and what we might be perceiving as an ideal outcome.
Pisces energies will be more dominant throughout these squares; they’ll have more influence and directive. With this influence, we might find that the Pisces energies are closing out things we don’t want to let go of or lose. These can be tied to our identities, our beliefs about how things should be, and what we feel supports us in our lives.
🌥️ This will require a lot of trust from us regarding the following concepts and questions:
✨ Trust that karma has been fulfilled whether or not it looks resolved in the way we prefer.
Can you accept things without approving of them? I’ll revisit this concept later.
🌟 Trust that things are complete even if we feel like we haven’t caught up to the reality of the outcome. Ready or not, the world keeps turning — this is also about acceptance.
💫 Trust that the pressures we might feel around unhealed spiritual themes that we’re moving through or learning more about are exactly what needs to be released in order for us to graduate to the next level that we’re seeking.
Where can you get out of your own way?
💪 Trust that the mechanisms we have counted on to live our lives for a long time can be surrendered and we will survive.
Where have you needed and found a similar kind of resilience to personal changes in your past?
🌈 Trust that what we have believed is possible for our lives is just a fraction of what’s available. Move beyond your expectations and assumptions.
🕊️ Trust that as things are removed from our lives that we didn’t want, expect, or think we could carry on without, that we will find out how we process those losses, how we love ourselves through it, and how we honor those feelings as part of the human experience. Sometimes we have to deflate more in order to inflate with better air.
💥 The main lesson from Pisces is this: there are parts of your reality that aren’t meant to move forward with you into 2026.
🟣 Pluto in Aquarius ♒
Lingering in the background for the next 20 years or so is Pluto in Aquarius. Having an Aquarius Sun, I can testify that one of our attributes is always having an exit strategy 🏃♂️ so the Piscean aspect of escapism can get really enhanced. Pluto can urge us to focus on our fears — and who doesn’t have some fear around change and loss?
Because of this, we will need a little extra courage. 💪
We can pull some courage from other aspects of this long transit: Pluto’s strength of survival instincts and the Aquarian ability to compartmentalize so we can release what isn’t essential and hold that bigger Sagittarius vision with more ease.
We aren’t out of the woods 🌲 yet, but we aren’t out of luck 💫 either!
🌈 Optimistic Jupiter is retrograde in nurturing 💓 Cancer through March 10th 2026
⭐ The intention with this transit is to come into your heart 💖 in an honest way and expand how you give and receive from this beautiful space in the healthiest ways possible for you. That can feel super vulnerable.
Cancer is a heart-focused energy. Jupiter rules Sagittarius, so the Sun ☀️ is giving this transit a lucky boost 🍀. That luck isn’t free though; it comes with deep questions about how we love — and whether we can give from our hearts without strings attached if our personal needs aren’t being met.
🎁 The gift of this transit is to learn how to receive. Perhaps it might be about learning to give to yourself, learning to mother yourself and take care of your own needs so that when you give, it can be without strings attached, without resentment, and from that pure place.
If something has been really emotionally heavy this year, this transit can help us with discernment on where we focus our love energies. 💕
🌊 Grand Water Trine
In my last Lunar Notion article, for the Taurus full moon, I wrote about the Water Grand Trine unfolding into mid-December. The basic astrology is that there are a heavy portion of planets and/or points inhabiting the water signs.
The main players are Jupiter in 🦀 Cancer, Mercury in 🦂 Scorpio, and Saturn in 🐟 Pisces.
Water Grand Trines activate a lot of emotions, which might create a greater need for privacy 🛌, retreat 🏡, anything that allows us to feel very honest with ourselves. 💧
It is asking us to flow with the emotional growth that we are experiencing. 💦
This Water Grand Trine can help us flow, can help us carry our burdens, can drown what we cannot carry; it can also sink energies and can overwhelm us. 🌊
How we handle this will depend on our relationship with our emotions and our ways of working with them. 🔱
🔮 Mutations
🏹 Sagittarius, 👯 Gemini, 🐠🐠 Pisces, and 🏺 Virgo are mutable signs. What does that mean?
🌀 Mutation. Change. Un-becoming to become something new. With transiting planets and/or aspects in each of these signs, this might not be a pretty process.
Sagittarius season is a time to dream big 💭. In combination with the Full Moon in Gemini and the rest of the astrology right now, remember that these dreams are long-term visions.
👉 We will need to check our expectations on short-term outcomes, release many of our assumptions about how things will work, and hold onto that bigger vision without getting snared in the details for now.
A Recap of our full moon reflective questions 🪞
💭 Can you accept things without needing to approve of them? I delve into my own struggles with this idea in another article called Innerlands, you can find it here and in the notes below.
💭 Can you trust that things are complete even if you feel like you haven’t caught up to the reality of the outcome?
💭 Where can you release some pressures you put on yourself to be a certain way, so that you can graduate to the next level that you’re seeking?
💭 Thinking about the ways you’ve navigated change and loss in your past, can you notice how you’ve shown up for yourself and been resilient before now?
💭 Can you trust that what you think is possible for your life, even in your current circumstances, is simply a product of your perception? Can you imagine fewer expectations about what is possible?
💭 🌳 This next one reminds me of a lesson I learned from trees. Looking at an enormous maple tree, I noticed that the lines of its bark moved closer, nearly scrunched up together right before a new, really big branch formed. What in your life needs to get smaller in order for something new and big to shift or occur?
🌕 As this Gemini Super Full Moon peaks, a new understanding of reality becomes accessible. These days, what felt confusing or uncertain could begin to reveal its underlying pattern, allowing us to recognize a thread we can follow — maybe a thread connecting our past to the present and the future, or a thread connecting our inner and outer realities.
The Gemini Full Moon is a reminder that our truth isn’t the only truth, our opinions aren’t the absolute truth: we are being called to understand the difference between a belief and a fact, and invited to stay open to perspectives and ideas that are different from ours.
✔️ What is essential is curiosity.
✔️ What needs to be washed away is being right or having everything figured out.
✔️ If we can stay oriented toward learning and growth, to new perspectives, then we can gain clarity about our path ahead.
‼️ A perfect invitation from the last full moon of 2025!
🌑 Up Next!
December 10th: Neptune turns direct — this should help clear some of the fog 🌫️ we might feel around moving our lives forward. This also brings some responsibility on us to wrap things up by then – gotta ditch illusions and outdated attachments.
December 11th: Mercury returns to Sagittarius — keep integrating insights!
December 15th: Mars enters Capricorn, where it is exalted (the energy of Mars can be more easily harnessed and directed) — our capacity to take action with intention will be supported!
This Gemini Full Moon is encouraging a clarifying power wash 🚿 to our psyches. If we can participate in this cosmic clean up, then the Sagittarius New Moon on December 19th can usher in a time of productive and wondrous expansion.
Get a boost for wrapping up Sagittarius season by joining me and my moonbeams in our next hybrid New Moon Ceremony on December 19th, where we’ll explore:
